Ms. Sue
3x-2/3x=4/3
7/3x = 4/3
x = (4/3) / (7/3)
x = (4/3) * (3/7)
x = 12/21 = 4/7
7/3x = 4/3
x = (4/3) / (7/3)
x = (4/3) * (3/7)
x = 12/21 = 4/7

Thank you Ms.Sue, but could you please show me how you got 7/3x?

I think this problem is really
(3x - 2) / 3x = 4 / 3
[cross multiply]
3(3x - 2) = 4 * 3x
9x - 6 = 12x
9x -6 + 6 = 12x +'6
9x = 12x + 6
9x - 12x = 12x + 6 - 12x
-3x = 6
x = -2
(3x - 2) / 3x = 4 / 3
[cross multiply]
3(3x - 2) = 4 * 3x
9x - 6 = 12x
9x -6 + 6 = 12x +'6
9x = 12x + 6
9x - 12x = 12x + 6 - 12x
-3x = 6
x = -2

Ms. Sue
3x - 2/3x = 2 1/3x
2 1/3 = 7/3
2 1/3 = 7/3
