An object weighs 12 N on earth. When it is brought to Mars, it has a weight of 4.8 N. What is the acceleration due to gravity on Mars? (Taking the acceleration due to gravity on earth is 10 m/s²)

So weight is mass times gravity
On earth, w(12N) = m*10m/s2.
Solve for mass.
Mass= 1.2N

Use that to find mars' gravity. 4.8= (1.2)*g
Solve for g.
G= 4m/s2
