Determine the volume of methane CH4 gas needed to react completely with 0.660 L of 02 to form methanol CH3OH

I'm confused because I'm sure CH4 + O2 don't give you CH3OH. Thanks

There are procedures for doing this.

What do you mean there are procedures? Thanks

I mean, yes, it can be done. You didn't think it could be done. I assume you can work the problem if we get by the hang up of CH4 and O2 not producing CH3OH.

So CH4 + O2 = CH3OH ?
Answered by DrBob222
How about 2CH4 + O2 ==> 2CH3OH

Thanks you for the balanced equation!

I'm not certain, but is it possible that the answer is: 1.32 ?
