If 20 3rd graders owned birds, how many third graders were surveyed?
Reptiles 5%
Birds 5%
Fish 10%
Cats 35%
Dogs 45%
I did 5% of 30 = .05 x 30 = 1.5
30/1.5 = 20 third graders
BUT I am thinking I am doing something wrong? Where did I go wrong?
Should it be 30/.05 = 600 students were surveyed?
I want to understand my steps on where I messed up? Could you show me?
