E = F/Ao / ∆L/Lo
= 1000/10^-5 / 0.001
= 10^3 * 10^5 * 10^3 = 1.0*10^11
If the answer is 1.1*10^11, I'm not sure where I went astray. A change of .1% would be like going from 1000 to 1001, and ∆L/Lo = .001. Maybe I'm misinterpreting the ∆L stuff.
