i. imgur. com/J6VpPrc. png what is the mechanism (electron pushing) of this reaction?

1 answer

This is an oxidation reaction, and I can't show arrow pushing on this forum, and it would take to long to explain how to do this. If you look at oxidation reactions in your text, I am pretty sure you can figure out how to do this. You will just have to so it twice, and a base will remove the H from the OH group after both CH3OH's have been formed to give you a carbonyl.
