There is a question on my homework that asks use d=1032-200t to the approximate the distance in miles and time in hours of a pilot from her destination. find the distances for the time values given in 2a and 2b
2a:t=1.5 hours
2b:t=4.8 hours
how do i solve this?
<<how do i solve this? >>
Take the equation for distance from destination vs. time,
d=1032-200t,
and substitute 1.5 hours for t.
You get d = 1032 - 300 = 732 miles
d is in miles if t is in hours.
Do the 2b case similarly
2a:t=1.5 hours
2b:t=4.8 hours
