Can you please show me step by step to the answer you have given me. -1/4(8x+2). I still do not understand how you came up with the answer.

open d bracket
-2x-1/2
turn it int an eqn by equating to zero
-2x-1/2=0
make x subject of formula
-2x=1/2
divide through by -2
x=0.5/-2
x=0.25
