ok so I have to solve for x in this problem. and I have tried and tried to figure it out but I cant.

12(4x-2)=9(3x+2)

I distributed them but after that when I try to simplify im lost. can someone please help???

12(4x-2)=9(3x+2)
12*4x - 12*2 = 9*3x + 9*2
48x - 24 = 27x + 18
21x = 42
x = 2

check:
12(4*2-2) =? 9(3*2+2)
12(6) =? 9(8)
72 =? 72 YES!
