Three times the reciprocal of a number equals 9 times the reciprocal of 6. Find the number.

let the number be x

3(1/x) = 9(1/6)
3/x = 3/2
3x = 6
x = 2

check:

3(1/2) = 3/2
9(1/6) = 3/2 , looks good.
