Asked by John

In Western culture, a man is introduced to a woman and a young person is introduced to an elderly person. (Is this expressions grammatical?)

e.g. Mina, this is Mike. Mike, this is Mina.
In this words, who is being introduced to whom?
Is Mina being introduced to Mike?
Or Is Mike being introduced to Mina?
