How much heat would be released by burning one gallon of octane? The density of octane is 0.703g/mL. 1 gallon= 3.79 liters.

2C8H18 + 25O2 ==> 16CO2 + 18H2O

Convert the 1 gallon to L, then use density to convert to grams.
dHrxn = (n*dHf CO2 + n*dHf H2O) - (dHfC8H18)
