Write y^2 + 8x = 0 in polar form.
1 answer
we know that x^2 + y^2 = r^2
so y^2 = r^2 - x^2
also sinØ = x/r
x = rsinØ
x^2 = r^2 sin^2 Ø
so y^2 + 8x = 0
r^2 - x^2 + 8x = 0
r^2 - r^2 sin^2 Ø + 8r sinØ = 0
