Simplify:
d/d^2-9 + 5/2d+6
I got as far as d/(d+3)(d-3) + 5/2(d+3) but do not know how to further simplify.
Thanks for any help given.

Your common denominator is 2(d+3)(d-3)
so
(2d + 5(d-3))/[2(d+3)(d-3)]
= (7d-15)/[2(d+3)(d-3)], d not equal to ±3
so
(2d + 5(d-3))/[2(d+3)(d-3)]
= (7d-15)/[2(d+3)(d-3)], d not equal to ±3
