I am having a hard time doing equivalent fractions. Would 3/5 of 2/9 be equivalent?

"of" usually means multiply.

as in, half of 6 is 3:
1/2 * 6 = 3

so, 3/5 of 2/9 = 3/5 * 2/9 = 6/45 = 2/15
