use a simple ratio equation , I will also change your numbers to decimals
gummy/.75 = 3.25 / 1
gummy = .75(3.25) = 2.4375 or 2 7/16 pounds of gummy bears
so total amount of snacks = 3.24 pounds of peanuts and 2.4375 pounds of gummy bears
= total of 5.6875 or 5 11/16 pounds of snack mix
check:
my answer : 2.4375 : 3.25 = 3 : 4 which is what it should be
Your answer: 2.5 : 3.25 ≠ 3:4
gummy/.75 = 3.25 / 1
gummy = .75(3.25) = 2.4375 or 2 7/16 pounds of gummy bears
so total amount of snacks = 3.24 pounds of peanuts and 2.4375 pounds of gummy bears
= total of 5.6875 or 5 11/16 pounds of snack mix
check:
my answer : 2.4375 : 3.25 = 3 : 4 which is what it should be
Your answer: 2.5 : 3.25 ≠ 3:4
