Can you help me with this question?
Could a person walk across the United States (New York to California) in a year? If not, about how long will it take? Explain your reasoning.

obviously yes, she walked fast enough.
How fast is that?
Call the distance 3000 miles. you may substitute a better figure if you have it.
Call a year 365 days = 8760 hours
3000mi/8760hr = 1.34mi/hr
That's a good slow pace, but who can walk for a year without stopping?
Allowing for an 8-hr day, that would increase the speed to 4mph, which is pretty fast clip to maintain.
Maybe a 12-hr day at 2.7mph would be achievable
