I solved the equation and got x = 2 . But I think I got it wrong ): can someone please help?

Assuming no parentheses are missing, i.e. the question actually means:

((5x)/4) + (1/2) = x - (1/2)

x=2 is not correct.

To solve:
(5x/4) - x = -(1/2) - (1/2)
x/4 = -1
