since there are roots at 0 and 2, integrate from 0 to 2 and divide by the interval length (2).
(2x^2 - 1/4 x^4)[0,2]/2 = 4/2 = 2
(2x^2 - 1/4 x^4)[0,2]/2 = 4/2 = 2
