why are plastic handles on frying pans safer to than metal handles

they don't take the heat in and stay cool so you don't get butnt

Plastic handles don't get very hot because heat from the pan below is not conducted there as readily as if the handle were solid metal. Furthermore, less heat gets conducted to the hand from plastic when you grip it, than when you grip metal at the same temperature.
