The top of a ladder is leaning on a building at a point 12 feet above the ground; the bottom of the ladder is 5 feet from the base of the building. What is the length of the ladder?

a^2 + b^2 = c^2
12^2 + 5^2 = c^2
144 + 25 = c^2
169 = c^2
13 = c
