                mark has 48 marbles.5/12 of them are blue and 1/2 of them are yellow.how many more yellow marbles than blue marbles does he have?

    Yellow: 1/2*48=24
Blue: 5/12 *48=20

    first find out exactly how much of each you have with simply ratio cross multiplication
(x/48)=((5/12)
240= 12x divide by 12
gives you x = 20 (x is blue marbles)
(1/2)= (y/48)
2y= 48
y= 24 so he has 4 more yellows
