It appears you want to rationalize the fraction. So, multiply top and bottom by
sqrt(u)-sqrt(v)
That gives you
(sqrt(u)-sqrt(v))^2/(u-v)
= (u - 2sqrt(uv) + v)/(u-v)
sqrt(u)-sqrt(v)
That gives you
(sqrt(u)-sqrt(v))^2/(u-v)
= (u - 2sqrt(uv) + v)/(u-v)
