                i need help setting this problem up i know what the answer is but need to know how to get to it.
calculate the kinetic energy in joules of an automobile weighing 2135lb and traveling at 55 mph (1 mile=1.6093km, 1lb=453.59g)

    just use the formula:
KE = 1/2 mv^2
m = 2135 lb*.45359 kg/lb = 968.4 kg
v = 55 mi/hr * 1609.3 m/mi * 1 hr/3600s = 24.59 m/s
KE = .5 * 968.4 * 24.59<sup>2</sup> kg-m^2/s^2 = 292780J = 292.78kJ
