what is 40x^6-32x^8 factored completely?

1 answer

40x^6-32x^8
= 8x^6(5 - 4x^2)

if you allow irrationals ....
= 8x^6(√5 + 2x)(√5 - 2x)

usually factoring is restricted to rationals, so my first answer would be it.
