the green bay packers ordered roast beef subs and turkey subs for lunch. a total of 53 subs were ordered. the number of roast beef subs ordered is 2 more than twice the number of turkey subs. write and solve a system of linear equations to determine how many roast beef subs x and turkey subs y are ordered.

When you are given the sum and the difference of two numbers,
sum (total) =53
difference (more than) = 2
then
bigger number=(sum+difference)/2
smaller number = (sum-difference)/2

sum (total) =53
difference (more than) = 2
then
bigger number=(sum+difference)/2
smaller number = (sum-difference)/2
