You have 1.50mL of a urine specimen. The assay you are about to perform requires a 1/25 dilution of this specimen. How much water must be added to the specimen to achieve this dilution?

Look at iat this way.
1 mL sample + 24 mL H2O
2 mL sample + 48 mL H2O
So 1.5 + (24+12) mL H2O
1 mL sample + 24 mL H2O
2 mL sample + 48 mL H2O
So 1.5 + (24+12) mL H2O
