Can someone explain allopatric speciation and sympatric speciation. I know that allopatric speciation is because of geographic isolation. I don't understand sympatric speciaiton, though.

IT is very common in parasites. For example, ticks and fleas often develope specialization according to the host animal, in the same geographic region. Even different races can evolve over time due to different hosts (ie, dogs or cats or cows).
