Would you please revise this paper and tell me what I should or need to change? I want to make it sound as professional and correct as possible. Its a column for my journalism class. Thanks!

This, I believe.

People everywhere are protesting same-sex marriage in harsh and immoral ways. They want to completely ban even the thought of same-sex marriages from ever being legal due to their own beliefs. These people need to look at it through the homosexuals point of view, before they make harsh judgments. Just imagine that you are in love with someone and want to dedicate your life to that person, but society wont allow you too. How does that make you feel? People need to realize what its like to be in an homosexuals shoes, before making rude remarks and harsh judgments. What do you think is going to happen if it is legalized? The worlds going to end? There will be another downfall of our economy? Not one of these would or will happen. The only thing that would happen, is two people of the same gender get to unite their love.

Most peoples views on homosexuality are based around religion. We should respect everyone's religion, but we have to remember not everyone is of the same religion. Just because you believe a certain way, gives you no right to put people down with the use of harsh words or even violence. Multiple fights have broken out due to people protesting marriage. Let them protest all they want and do your best to ignore it, but remember that everyone should be treated equally no matter what race, sexuality, or religion they are. People will constantly try to fight this opinion that "Everyone should be treated equally no matter what race, sexuality, or religion they are," but if they only looked at it through another angle, as if they were of a different race or sexual orientation, and realized how mean and upsetting they can be. I mean, what if they were that person that they are discriminating against?

Besides from the people going anti-, a good amount of people have also protested that homosexuals should have the right to get married. Actually, there are much more people protesting that homosexual marriage should be legalized, then that it shouldn’t. Multiple fights have broken out over these protesters too though, as sad as it is. If people only thought about something other than their self for once, maybe they would realize that being homosexual isn't as bad and taboo as everyone makes it seem. People should be able to come out without having to worry about people harassing or judging them. Everyone should love each other for who they are, not hate on them for who they are not.

People also need to realize that you can't help who you are attracted to. People think its an option to pick who you are attracted to. News flash, that tends to not be the case. I guarantee that almost the whole population of homosexuals wish they were straight. I mean, who would want to undertake all of the harassing and judging that comes along with being homosexual? Many people argue that it is an option because you are not born with a " gene" but you also weren't born with a "straight" gene either. Being attracted to the other gender is the normal situation, but that doesn’t mean you have the right to hate on someone who is different than you and cant change who they are.

I guess I'm just trying to get the point across that we should all love each other for who we are. Don’t try to change things about people that don’t really need to be changed. Why does it matter if you are a homosexual? You aren't hurting anyone else. If everyone just continuously spreaded love, and yes as cheesy and cliché as that sounds, than the world would be a much happier and better place. Hating on

someone for something they cant change is just plain wrong, and should never happen.Who are you to tell someone what's right and what's wrong? I firmly take stand in what I believe in, and I firmly believe that homosexuals should have the right to be married. People should be able to love whoever they want, love is love. This, I believe.
