help! If you have an equilateral triangle with a line down the middle from top to bottom with T at the top and R X S at the bottom, X being in the middle and RT=6, RS=9 then RX= what?

Something is not right here.
I assume your triangle is RTS, and you say it is equilateral.
Which of course means all sides are equal, but you say
RT = 6 and RS = 9
Did you mean isosceles ?
Anyway, in both equilateral and isosceles triangles, the altitude from T to the base would right-bisect the base.
So if the base = 9 , then RX = 4.5
Check your typing and the question again.
