                given functions f(x) = 3x-5 and g(x) = 1/3 - 4/3x correct the error g(-3) = 1/3 - 4/3(3)
= 1/3-4
= - 3 2/3 error i believe is 3 should be -3 so
g(-3) = 1/3 - 4/3(-3)
1/3- (4/3 times -3/1) = 1/3 -( -12/3)=
1/3 +12/3 = 13/4 = 4 1/3 other one:
f(1) = 1/3 - 4/3(1) = 1/3 - 4/3 = -3/3 and - 1 as answer maybe s/b +1 cannot see an error if not .
please do these answers look right to you? thanks very much ann

    1. 1/3 + 12/3 = 13/3 = 4 1/3.
2. F(x) = 3x-5,
F(1) = 3*1 - 5 = -2.

2. F(x) = 3x-5,
F(1) = 3*1 - 5 = -2.

I have already done this your answer to the first one is correct but write out the answer like this
g(-3)=1/3-4/3(x)
=1/3-4/3(-3) draw a slanted line through the last two threes to show they cancel out
=1/3-(-4)
=1/3+4
=4 1/3

The second you are wrong. The error is that the function for 2 does not match the function given f(x)=3x-5. It should look like this,
f(x)=3x-5
f(1)=3(1)-5
=3-5
=-2
These answers are correct hope I helped if you still need it good luck.

Can you better explain the error in the first problem?
