Yes because they're evenly distributed throughout. Heterogeneous would be sand and water.

Absolutely not. Water is a compound, not a homogeneous mixture. A solution of something, say salt in water or sugar is water, is an example of a homogeneous mixture.

homogeneous mixture is any mixture which is made up of two substance in the same state. the two substance merely mix together but not combine.
