Write the general rate equation for each of the components in the balanced equation for the combustion of butane
2C4H10(g)+ 13O2(g)-> 8CO2(g) + 10H2O(l)
2C4H10(g)+ 13O2(g)-> 8CO2(g) + 10H2O(l)

I can't write delta on my keyboard; therefore, d = delta, t = time
rate = -1/2(d[C4H10]/dt) = -1/13(d[O2]/dt) = 1/8(d[CO2]/dt) = 1/10(d[H2O]/dt)
rate = -1/2(d[C4H10]/dt) = -1/13(d[O2]/dt) = 1/8(d[CO2]/dt) = 1/10(d[H2O]/dt)
