How much energy in kJ is required to raise a 1.75 kg block of gold from 25.0 C to 105.0 C? The specific heat of gold is 0.03083 cal/g C, but I don't know how to compute the answer to the question.

q = mass Au x specific heat Au x (Tfinal-Tinitial). Use mass Au in grams (1.75 kg = 1750g), q will be in calories. Convert to J by J = cal x 4.184, then convert to kJ by dividing by 1000.
