Solve and simplify:

x^2+14x-4=0

solution, via the quadratic formula:

x = [-14 ± √(196+16)]/2

simplify:

x = (-14 ± √212)/2
= (-14 ± 2√53)/2
= -7 ± √53

Real math types prefer that as the answer. It's exact, and we don' need no steenking decimal places!
