Could you please explain to me:
how was the structure (Collosus of Rhodes) effective for it's stated purpose?
I don't understand the question and I need something for my project. Pleaseee.

The Rhodians erected this statue to celebrate their victory and independence. The was so huge and spectacular, that it announced to everyone who came to the island that Rhodes was a powerful place.
