a bullet is fired vertically upward with a velocity 220m above the ground . calculate the time it will take the bullet to strike the ground. assuming that its path is the same vertical line throughout (g=100meter per seconds)

220 m is not a velocity. It is a distance

g is not 100 m/s. That is a speed.
