what is the domain and range of g(m)=m^2 - 5m

Answers

Answered by Reiny
clearly the domain is any value of m

the function is a parabola , so we need the vertex

the m of the vertex is -(-5)/2 = 5/2 = 2.5
g(5/2) = -6.25

since the parabola opens up, there is a minimum of g(m) of -6.25

domain: m ∊ R
range: m > -6.25 , m ∊ R
