Doug has 170 stamps in his collection. His first book of stamps has 30 more stamps in it than his second book how many stamps are in each book. how do you figure out what P is? Divide 170 by 2?

Let x = the second book.

x + x + 30 = 170

2x = 170 - 30

x = 140/2
x = ?
