Why do modern people glorify the ancient world??

Think of the fabulous ideas and accomplishments made by ancient peoples with very simple tools.

Pyramids of Egypt
Stonehenge
Alexander the Great conquering much of the known world before he was 33
Aristotle, Plato, etc. with their philosophies
Democracy in Athens
Invention of writing
Roman Empire conquests and architecture

I'm in awe of the accomplishments of ancient people.
