If the points are co-linear then there are three possible arrangements

1. ABC
2. ACB
3. BAC

if AB=7 cm and BC = 17 cm then arrangement 2 is not possible because 7cm is not greater than 13 cm

In arrangement 1
A 7 cm B 13 cm C

so AC= 20 cm

In arrangement 3

B 7 cm A 7 ??x?? C and BC = 13 cm

so AC = 6 cm
