2 + 5(9x - 6) = 14

First, multiply the quantity in parentheses.

2 + 45x - 30 = 14

Move the known quantities to one side of the equation.

45x = 14 + 28

45x = 42
x = 42/45

i Just get confused on what to do in the parentheses. Their confusing. Do you just distribute them and then add or subtract them?

Ello dude, sooo I guess if there is a number no matter what its being "added too" u just distribute the number so lets say this is the problem:

3-2(4v+5)-3

U would want to distribute the number right next to the parenthesis, not doing the math outside like 3-2=1, thats not being distributed, u ALWAYS no matter what, distribute the number right next to the parenthesis.
