The arithmetic mean, also called the average, of a series of quantities is obtained by finding the sum of the quantities and dividing it by the number of quantities. In the series 1, 3, 5, 18, 19, 20, 25, the mean or average is 13—in other words, 91 divided by 7.
The median of a series is that point which so divides it that half the quantities are on one side, half on the other. In the above series, the median is 18.
The median often better expresses the common-run, since it is not, as is the mean, affected by an excessively high or low figure. In the series 1, 3, 4, 7, 55, the median of 4 is a truer expression of the common-run than is the mean of 14.
thank you so much:)

You will have to do a little bit of research, here is a hint:
in the entry entitled North European Plain
"major reference (in European Plain (plain, Europe): Physiography)
...all of western and northern France, Belgium, The Netherlands, southern Scandinavia, northern Germany, and nearly all of Poland; from northern France and Belgium eastward it commonly is called the North European Plain. In the east the plain generally is called the East European, or Russian, Plain."
-brittanica
thank you! im still somewhat confused, though.
nevermind, is this right?
If an object is moving 18 feet in 2 seconds, then it is moving 64,800 (18 times 60 times 60) feet in one hour. That is 12.3 (64,800 divided by 5,280) miles per hour.
60 Km. Divide 2,924 by 43 and you will get Km per hour.
Social trends create popular interest in a product or service and ultimately opportunities for a business. Social trends can be either short-lived fads or permanent changes in the market. For example, the Beanie Baby fad of the mid-1990s is an example of a social trend that stimulated interest in bean-bag-shaped stuffed animals. Opportunities for Ty Inc. were created the more popular Beanie Babies become. An example of a long-term social trend is the public embracing LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs. Short- and long-term social trends promote opportunities for businesses that can create and improve on products and get them to the marketplace.
Supply and Demand
Supply and demand is the direct result of trends in the social market, which can benefit and hinder businesses. An increased interest in ultra-slim cell phones benefits technology manufacturers already making ultra-slim products and threatens companies that specialize in high-end flip phones. When demand in the social market rises, supply from particular companies and businesses increases to meet the demand. When demand decreases, this gives businesses the opportunity to become innovators of new products that will spur the next social trends.
Profit and Loss
Profits and losses of businesses are directly affected by social trends and accompanying supply and demand principles. Companies that manufacture products on the ascendancy see profits increase while companies that focus yesterday's trends will often see profits decrease. Profits are also affected and decline when short-lived social trends begin to diminish. Permanent changes in the marketplace directly affect profit margins for years to come.

thank you!<3
thank you!
So far, the only mistake I see is the second sentences. The sentence itself doesn't sound right, so i would change it to "I pushed my child on a swing and then watched him go down a slide." and then, "When I was at the swimming pool, I watched my child diving into the water from the water chute." I don't see springboard necessary, and if it is it would replace water chute. Em not exactly sure what you mean by "Is there a verb for opening the beach umbrella?"
*** It would be springboard, not water chute. So it would be "When I was at the swimming pool, I watched my child diving into the water from the springboard." Sorry about that.
I think you meant "To find half of a number, divide the number by 2"
So you would be cutting it in half. What else do you need to know?
First Person

**try to not to post the same question twice. Thanks!
I would also say D, in the long run, D would have the greatest effect, but in the short run, a creek flowing down a hill would wash away quite abit of dirt and bugs etc.
Yes! They both equal 11.
I almost always use bing, it provides the best results because the algorithm they use is much cleaner then Google's, which in return supplies you with greater and better results.
I love Ms.Sue too! She got me started here tutoring people that need help! Anyways! What equation?
No problem!:)
If you want to check your answer, (this is helpful on tests, too) You just fill in each X with the number you got. (In this situation it would be 0.4286)
If both sides equal the same thing(I got 21.428) That means it is correct.
21.428=21.428 Check!
You are correct. Deltas are formed from the deposition of the sediment carried by the river as the flow leaves the mouth of the river.
Using your brain only, you would solve the subtraction equation.
For example:
6 - 2= So take 2 away from six: so you would get 4. However in Middle School and High School, you will have to use a calculator, for mental math with big numbers is nearly impossible.
I would probably go with C, because if something is steep and water continuously flows over it for awhile, it will erode quite a lot. However, water moving over flat land would not do to much, because it is flat.
Possible Solution:
1) Traveler + Goat cross
2) Traveler returns

7) Traveler + Goat Cross
