The Acropolis is a high and steep hill in Athens, Greece. It was used as a fort in ancient times to keep people safe from enemies. Later, temples were built on it to keep them safe from enemies. They also symbolized the spirit of Athens and the main temple, the Parthenon, can still be seen from many places around the city.
