                find the equation of the perpendicular line to y=1/2x+4 and passing through the point  (1,-2)

    Then the new equation must be
y = -2x + b , remember slopes must be opposite reciprocals for perpendicular lines
sub in the point (1,-2)
-2 = -2(1) + b
b = 0
so y = -2x
