                ok i asked 4 help earlear ang got it but now im stuck again
(2,5) M=1/2
the book says to
"write an equation of the line that passws through the point and has the given slope. write the equation in slope-intercept form."
but how do i do this with a fraction the book dose not explane.
please help!!!!!

    The fraction means that the slope goes up in y one unit for every two units in x
(y-5)/(x-2) = 1/2
You can write this lots of ways.
For example multiply both sides by (x-2)
y-5 = (1/2) (x-2)
y - 5 = (1/2) x - 1
y = (1/2) x + 4
the slope m = (1/2)
and along the y axis, where x = 0 the y axis intercept (b) is 4
CHECK
when x = 2
y = (1/2)(2) + 4
y = 1 + 4
y = 5
so indeed the line goes through (2,4)
