If I understand your question, your tent is a pyramid with the triangles being equilateral.
The height of an equilateral triangle of length 8 ft is
4√3 ft
area of one triangle = (1/2)(8)(4√3) = 16√3
so total area = 3(16√3) + 64 or 48√3+64 ft^2
= 147.14 ft^2 appr.
