What is a clarifying sentence? I have to use my spelling words and write a clarifying sentence including contex clues????

I believe that it is a sentence that clarifies the meaning of the word. But you could probably look it up on google or something.

A clarifying sentence is one in which you show that you know the meaning of the word.
For instance, you shouldn't just say: <i>The <u>ao dai</u> was beautiful.</i>
A clarifying sentence would be:
<i>Vietnamese high school girls wear long, white tunics, called <u>ao dais</u> over flowing white pants.</i>
