Colin is working to earn some money for a new cd player. On Saturday he earned half as much as he did on Sunday, but twice as much as he did on Friday. During those three days he earned $70. How much did he earn each day?

x is what he earned on Saturday
2x is what he earned on Sunday
x/2 is what he earned on Friday

x + 2x + x/2 = 70
3.5 x = 70
x=70/3.5
x = 20
$20 on Saturday
$40 on Sunday
$10 on Friday
