Let x = the number of male students.
x + x + 25 = 355
2x + 25 = 355
2x + 25 - 25 = 355-25
2x = 330
x = 330/2
x = 165
Proof: 165 + 190 = 355
x + x + 25 = 355
2x + 25 = 355
2x + 25 - 25 = 355-25
2x = 330
x = 330/2
x = 165
Proof: 165 + 190 = 355
